If I asked you what the deadliest animal in the world is, what would you answer? I am sure your mind immediately went to thoughts of tigers, gators, snakes, and other beastly animals, but you would be wrong. What if I told you that the world's deadliest animal is actually the mosquito! Yes you read that correctly, it is the mosquito. Now you might be thinking "how is that possible?". Mosquitos are known as vectors for harmful diseases such as Malaria, Zika, and more, and are responsible for almost 1 million deaths a year. Now, while most of the civilized world views mosquitos as more of annoyance and hinderance to outdoor events and gatherings, these bugs can actually be very dangerous. On top of their ability to carry harmful diseases, mosquitos' peak season is spring into the summer, which coincides with when people spend more time outdoors.

We have all been at a backyard BBQ or outdoor birthday party, when everything is going great until the mosquitos start -bite after relentless bite. Everyone starts smacking their arms and legs trying to survive as long as possible, but it is inevitable and the outdoor gathering comes to an abrupt end. We try to manage them with the Citronella mosquito repellent candles, spray, and Tiki torches, but they are pretty much useless unless you are right on top of them. This is where Schmidt Pest Management comes into to save your yard and outdoor gatherings with our mosquito services. Our Mosquito Control Treatment starts at $55 and is adjusted based on the size of the property, since the mosquito service treats the entire perimeter of your home. We use a special fogger to apply the mosquito treatment, and also take notice of any issues the homeowner should be aware of such as: poor drainage, plants too close to the house, or standing water.

Mosquito season runs from April thru September here in South Carolina, which of course is when we are all out trying to enjoy the warm weather and cool evenings on the porch. Mosquitos do go dormant in the winter, so there is no need to treat during those months, but you absolutely want to be on top of it and have your property treated the beginning of April when mosquito season starts. To help with mosquito control on your property, we offer two options for our Mosquito Treatment:

1.) Full Season Option - Homeowner pays for the entire season up front and we come out to treat the property about every 28 days. The average home will receive about 5 to 6 treatments for the season. 

2.) As Needed Option - Homeowner only wants us to come out and treat the property a few times. As the title says, it is an as needed basis so each property will differ on amount of services they require.
